Transportation
In order to transport conventional tubular towers, specialized transportation equipment is needed. This is cumbersome, slow and expensive.
With our modular design, the lower tower sections are bolted together in the field to minimize transportation and manufacturing cost. As a side benefit this reduces the hours of manufacturing time and enables NORTHSTAR to outperform any other tower manufacturer’s build time.
Top sections are shipped pre-assembled and the bottom sections are shipped on standard flat bed trailers.
The average to-site cost of the NORTHSTAR tower is just 25% to 35% that of a comparable tubular tower shipped the same distance.
With our primary manufacturing location in the Midwest, our transportation distance to the majority of US installations is cut down dramatically.
